2001 Highlights
IAN Web Page: IAN is now on line. The site includes upcoming workshops, IAN newsletter, history, employment opportunities and pictures. The web site is www.ianpage.20m.com
Awards Program: Iowa Association of Naturalists (IAN) and the Iowa Conservation Education Council (ICEC) presented the following Environmental Education Excellence Awards
Junior Naturalist Program: This program continues to grow through-out the state.
Joe Halbur Scholarship: Original T-shirt designs were offered to naturalists to sell at their centers. Additional T-shirts were sold at the NIW conference. This proved to be a good fundraiser.
Newsletter: 3 newsletters were produced and distributed.
Iowa Materials Booklets: The biological series of the IAN booklets was updated. Some of the IAN books can be found on the extension wedsite.
Professional Development: 27 people received this certification for 2000.
Standards for Professional Development: Standards have been recently changed. That information can be found on our website.
Scholarship Program: Four scholarships were awarded to IAN members to attend NIW. Those receiving scholarships include Leslie Luft, Dave Bakke, Greg Wolf, and Lori Foresman-KirpesREAP/CEP Grant Program: Rule changes have been made. Changes to the rules will not go into effect until fall of 2002.
National Association of Interpreters Conference: Many IAN members helped to make this huge conference run smoothly and made Iowa look fantastic. They served at workshop chairs, program chairs, committee members and volunteers.
